Celsius snaps up ultramax resale
Clarksons Research reports China’s Zhejiang Yangfan shipyard has sold a SDARI 64 design ultramax resale (Hull BC64k-DM02), for prompt delivery, to Copenhagen-headquartered Celcius Shipping for a price in the high $16m.
“The sale follows the disposal by the yard of a sister vessel to clients of Korea Line, as part of a structured cancellation package of existing orders two months ago,” Clarksons reported.
Celsius acts as a platform for investors to come in on ship acquisition deals with a focus on specialized tonnage. Its investments to date have been centred on chemical and product tankers as well as LPG tankers with dry bulk only coming into play recently.
